LDM Technologies Inc., an automotive plastic component supplier in Auburn Hills, Mich., is for sale.
Two sources familiar with the bidding say that at least four companies are looking at LDM, including Meridian Automotive Systems Inc. of Dearborn, Mich., and Carlyle Management Group of Dallas. The sources, who didn't want to be identified, also say two overseas companies are interested. Meridian and Carlyle declined comment.
LDM reported revenue of $390 million in fiscal 2002, which ended Sept. 29. The company didn't return two phone calls seeking comment.
LDM's largest customers are Ford Motor Co., General Motors, Visteon Corp. and the Chrysler group.
A source familiar with the company says the owners have set a price, and if they don't get it, there won't be a sale. The source says LDM's owners want to reach an agreement by April 30.
