DETROIT - Continental Teves will build a $3.5 million plant in Silao, Mexico. The 100,000-square-foot factory will make brake actuation components, with production expected to begin in 2004.
The plant will be Continental Teves' second in the Silao area and Continental's fifth in Mexico. Continental operates a sensor plant in Silao, an electronics plant in Cuautla, a tire plant in San Luis Potosi and a ContiTech plant in San Luis Potosi.
Continental supplies brake systems, chassis components, vehicle electronics, tires and technical rubber products. Its North American headquarters is in Auburn Hills, Mich.
