For January, U.S. car production was up 2.6 percent; Canadian car production was up 8.4 percent; Mexican car production was down 27.1 percent; and North American car production decreased 1.3 percent. It was the smallest January for North American built cars since January 1993, when 593,329 cars were built.
U.S. truck production was up 11.8 percent; Canadian truck production was up 3.9 percent; Mexican truck production was down 7.0 percent; and North American truck production was up 9.4 percent. It was the largest January on record for North American truck production. The previous record occurred in January 2000, when 768,292 trucks were built.
U.S. car and truck production rose 7.9 percent; Canadian car and truck production was up 6.1 percent; and Mexican car and truck production was down 20.2 percent.
