A California company that sells software and services to dealers has lost its $11.4 million lawsuit against a former suitor.
SmartCall Inc. of Inglewood, Calif., last year sued TeleTech Holdings Inc. of Denver and its Newgen Results Corp. subsidiary of San Diego, contending they broke an agreement to buy the company and stole confidential information about its software.
"This lawsuit was frivolous and without merit," said Newgen COO William Klehm.
Newgen, which has more than 7,000 dealership clients, unveiled the software, Sales Channel, to auto dealers at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in San Francisco last week. The software helps dealers follow up sales leads.
