FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- AutoNation Inc., the nation's largest dealership group, increased earnings despite lower revenue in 2002 by improving gross margins on parts and service, and finance and insurance. AutoNation reported $373.9 million net income on revenues of $19.5 billion last year, compared with $350.6 million net income on $20 billion in revenues in 2001.
