Virtually everything you ever wanted to know about wholesale auto auctions is answered in a new handbook created by Manheim Auctions Inc. of Atlanta.
The 120-page reference guide, aptly named Auction Handbook, contains information to help dealers, factories, financial institutions and others who buy and sell vehicles at wholesale auctions.
Manheim CEO Dean Eisner said Manheim decided to produce the guide after he attended an NADA training session and realized that even experienced dealers have questions about auctions.
The 10-chapter guide contains general information and is not specific to Manheim until Chapter 9.
Eisner said the company wanted to create a reference book that could be used at any auction.
The easy-to-read guide contains a glossary of terms, frequently asked questions and "insider tips" - tidbits of advice for buying and selling vehicles at an auction.
The free guides are at Manheim's booth, 4043.
