LOS ANGELES -- After six months without a No. 2 marketing executive, Kia Motors America finally filled the role.
Tom Smith, 38, has joined Kia as director of marketing communications. He spent the past four years as marketing director for the Rolls-Royce and Bentley brands in North America. He also worked with Toyota Motor Corp. for 12 years in various marketing roles.
Smith replaces Rick Weisehan, 51, who resigned July 31 as marketing director. With the marketing title change comes more responsibility. Smith picks up merchandising, auto shows and dealer events.
