DETROIT -- Covisint LLC laid off two high-ranking officers last week.
They are Dwaine Duckett, the senior vice president of human resources who came from Automatic Data Processing Inc. in July 2001, and Dan Jankowski, vice president of corporate communications. Jankowski was appointed in March 2001 but had been a spokesman for the exchange since it was founded by the Big 3 in February 2000.
The layoffs are another sign of the automotive exchange's struggles. In a bid to become profitable by year end, Covisint, of Southfield, Mich., laid off 50 employees in April and another 100 in June. Kevin English, former CEO, was replaced in June by longtime General Motors purchasing head Harold Kutner.
"We're doing what we can to get the company stabilized," said Covisint President Bruce Swift.
Neither vice president will be replaced.
