I am responding to John K. Teahen Jr.'s June 17 column bemoaning the U.S. loss of the car market. Consumers have spoken; listen carefully. The growing truck-loving public thinks cars just want to be trucks when they grow up.
Let the foreign automakers make the same mistake General Motors made, ignoring the truck trend for too long.
Teahen quotes Chrysler group sales at 67.7 percent trucks.
Report the dollar percent instead of the unit numbers and you'll probably see that despite selling fewer cars, the U.S. is capturing a lot more of the dollars spent in the automotive market. Go trucks!
