DETROIT -- General Motors on Tuesday named Eric Stevens, 46, to its top manufacturing engineering position in North America.
Stevens becomes executive director of manufacturing engineering for North America. He had been plant manager of the GM Oshawa (Ontario) Car Assembly plant. The Oshawa 1 plant was recently recognized by the Harbour Report North America 2002 as the most productive assembly plant in North America.
Stevens replaces Timothy Lee, recently appointed vice president for manufacturing at GM Europe. Stevens' appointment is effective July 1.
