WUPPERTAL, Germany -- Delphi Corp. of Troy, Mich., is working with Ford Motor Co. in Europe to develop a dual-voltage power system.
The system will be tested on a Ford Mondeo wagon. The research car will be equipped with two electrical systems, one 12-volt and one 42-volt. The setup requires two batteries. The car, which will be prepared at Delphi's facility in Wuppertal, will be used to test and refine the operations of a 42-volt electric system.
