I'm writing about the April 1 column "Just be sure you say it with authority."
Just try to pronounce the name of Volkswagen's upcoming sport-utility, the Touareg. I speak German and haven't figured out yet the correct pronunciation because any way I try it, it still sounds terrible.
Nice column, but I'm surprised the writer didn't mention Lincoln Mercury's Merkur (mare-coor) fiasco. That's OK. I will send the writer a copy of "A Pronunciation Guide to European Automobiles," which was published by Lincoln Mercury at the time to help us unsophisticated Americans pronounce European car names correctly.
