SHELTON, Conn. - Raytech Composites Inc. increased its share of General Motors' clutch friction-plate business from 5 percent to 25 percent in April when it began supplying product acquired from Delphi Corp.
Raytech Composites, an Indianapolis unit of Raytech Corp., spent an undisclosed amount on machinery and equipment and about $10 million of annual sales. The deal includes 100 percent of GM's original equipment and service business for the 4T40 automatic transmission. Service parts for several other GM transmissions also were included. Raytech will offer the products to the automotive aftermarket.
