Your May 13 article "Feds rethink truck definition" just goes to show how inefficient and politically motivated some of our U.S. government agencies can be. Is it impossible simply to use common sense for establishing federal rules?
I would like to see the following definition of a light truck: The body and chassis should be design-capable of transporting a rectangular box that is 46 inches wide by 60 inches long by 48 inches tall and weighs 1,000 pounds.
Motor homes and large vans capable of transporting 10 people would also be included.
Anything else is a passenger-carrying vehicle (car).
