June 4 -- Those who remember – or have heard about – the days when Chrysler's Hemi engine ruled stock car racing, might be a little surprised.
Dodge is bringing back a version of the Hemi as a truck engine. It is intended to appeal to commercial truck owners and Dodge will advertise the Hemi as a product feature.
It's just the latest in a string of rugged, masculine-sounding engine names that the Big 3 use in trucks. Dodge also has Magnum gasoline engines and Cummins diesels.
Ford has Triton gasoline engines and Power Stroke diesels while General Motors uses Vortec gasoline engines and Duramax diesels.
Just saying them makes me feel like a trucker.
Hey, thats probably the point.
