The Citroen C5 is based on PSA/Peugeot-Citroen's new large PF platform. More than 500 design and engineering staff were involved in developing the C5, which has all-new suspension and powertrain systems. The C5 has 60 key suppliers. About half have set up operations a few kilometers away from the C5's production site at Rennes-la-Janais, France. The plant produces about 920 C5s a day. The Citroen C5 was launched at the Paris auto show in September 2000. The station wagon version debuted at Geneva the following March.
