COVISINT - Online trading exchange Covisint appointed Philipp Popov, 45, a senior automotive supplier executive, as vice president and DaimlerChrysler global account leader. He will manage Covisint's relationship with the automaker around the world.
Popov joins Covisint from Harman/Becker Automotive Systems, Karlsbad, Germany, where he was vice president of marketing and sales. Before that, Popov was general manager, marketing and sales for Bose's European business unit.
RIETER - Hartmut Reuter (right), 45, was named CEO of the Rieter group. The heads of the textile and automotive divisions, Erwin Stoller and Matti Paasila, will now report directly to Reuter rather than to Kurt Feller, chairman of the Rieter board.
Reuter, a German national, joined Rieter in 1997 as a member of the group executive committee. He has headed the group's corporate center since 2000. Before Rieter, Reuter was a director in planning and controlling at Bosch.
Rieter's automotive division supplies noise control and thermal insulation systems. The company is based in Winterhur, Switzerland.
CHRYSLER - Michael Donoughe, 43, was appointed vice president for Chrysler group's family vehicle product team and family vehicle core team leader. He was director of car development for the Mercedes-Benz GST program in Stuttgart, Germany.
Donoughe succeeds Gordon Rinschler, who retired.
FAG - Frank Lang (below) became president and CEO of FAG Automotive North America and FAG Bearings, based in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.
Lang has been interim president and CEO of the automotive-bearing manufacturing firm since October. He concurrently served as vice president of product design engineering. Before that, Lang had been with FAG Automotive for 13 years in Stratford and Detroit.
FAG Automotive is part of the FAG Kugelfischer group of Schweinfurt, Germany.
COLLINS & AIKMAN - The US-based supplier made three appointments in Europe:
* Bernd Lattemann to president and managing director of European operations. He was previously CEO for Becker Group Europe.
* Jens Hohnel to vice president and managing director of sales, engineering and development, a new position. He was general manager of sales, engineering and development for Becker Group Europe.
* Friedhelm Schwarten to vice president and managing director for finance, and controller. He was CEO for Johnson Controls Interiors in Germany.
Collins & Aikman of Troy, Michigan, supplies cockpit modules and automotive floor and acoustic systems, instrument panels, automotive fabric, plastic-based trim, and convertible-top systems.
