DETROIT - General Motors named Gary White, 51, as leader of its vehicle line system Friday, March 15, as part of Vice Chairman Robert Lutz's restructuring of product development.
White was promoted to vice president of GM North America and retains his position as vehicle line executive for full-sized trucks. White takes on many of the responsibilities of Fred Schaafsma, 54, who is retiring as vehicle line executive process guardian. That position was cut.
Steve Carlisle, 39, executive director for program management, will pick up some of Schaafsma's responsibilities.
