CHICAGO - UGN Inc. of Chicago will open a plant in Jackson, Tenn., by the end of the year to manufacture acoustic materials for Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
It is UGN's fourth plant in North America.
UGN Inc. is a joint venture of Germany's Rieter Automotive Systems and Nihon Tokushu Toryo (Nittoku) of Japan.
The plant, in a 150,000-square-foot building, will have 100 employees and will add 100 jobs within three years. It will manufacture Rieter Ultra Light acoustic materials, which debuted on the 2002 Lexus ES 300.
