Mazda Motor Corp. is considering bringing the successor to the Demio supermini to the U.S. market, said Mazda President Mark Fields. To be called the Mazda2, the next-generation one-box sedan will be built off the Ford Fiesta platform in Valencia, Spain. The Fiesta runs on a longer wheelbase than a Hyundai Accent and is taller and wider. Said Fields: "We're still in an exploratory stage. We're not saying we're going to do it, but at this point it's serious."
