NEW ORLEANS - George Nahas has won the Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award.
Nahas, president of George Nahas Oldsmobile Inc. in Tavares, Fla., was scheduled to receive the award Saturday, Jan. 26, at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention here.
Sixty-six dealers were nominated this year.
The Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award recognizes outstanding new-car dealers for exceptional performance in their dealerships and distinguished community service.
The award is co-sponsored by Time and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in cooperation with NADA.
Faculty members from the University of Michigan Graduate School of Business Administration selected the finalists.
Nahas began his automotive career selling new cars at a Chevrolet dealership.
He sold 278 cars in the first seven months and was promoted to new-car sales manager.
He moved on to a Cadillac dealership to become general manager. In 1977, Nahas became the president/owner of George Nahas Oldsmobile Inc. in Tavares.
