James Gill Sr.
DETROIT - Former auto executive James Gill Sr. died June 22. He was 85.
Gill's career included stints at Cadillac, the General Motors photographic section, and the former Chrysler Corp.
DODGEVILLE, Wis. - Retired auto dealer Clarence Gratz died April 26. He was 92.
He founded Gratz Motors in 1936, selling Oldsmobile and GMC, later adding Chevrolet and Pontiac. He retired in 1981 but remained active in Gratz Motors until 1996.
GRASS VALLEY, Calif. - Retired automobile dealer Ralph Hockett died April 14. He was 79.
He owned Hockett Auto Sales in Grass Valley, which offered Buick, Cadillac, GMC truck, Pontiac and Jeep products until 1994.
Walter Miller III
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. - Auto dealer Walter Miller III, president of Miller Cadillac-Oldsmobile in Mount Pleasant and Miller Cadillac-Daewoo North in Goose Creek, S.C., died June 13. He was 48.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Former auto dealer Leonard Wasserman died April 14. He was 77.
Wasserman was a co-owner of Auto-Haus Mercedes-Benz/Toyota in Northbrook, Ill., from 1972 to 1977. He also managed Chicago-area dealerships, including Carol Buick in Evanston, Ill.; Walton Chrysler-Plymouth in Skokie, Ill.; and Joe Levy's Evanston Toyota in Evanston.
