If you stay at Pebble Beach Resorts on California's northern coast anytime soon, you might take a Volvo C70 convertible where land and sea meet on '17 mile drive' and feel the wind in your hair.
If you're a VIP guest, a Lincoln LS or Navigator will be provided for your driving pleasure.
Ford Motor Co.'s Premier Automotive Group has become the official vehicle partner for the chichi resort area. Lincoln is the resort's official vehicle, but each of the group's other brands - Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo - also will be featured during the two-year partnership.
For example, Jaguar and Land Rover will be showcased at the equestrian events hosted by the resorts. Still in the works are the types of co-branded merchandise to be offered and a possible Lincoln incentive package that will offer a trip to Pebble Beach Resorts.
'Given the number of exciting new models being introduced in the next 18 months by all our brands, Pebble Beach is the ideal facility to present these new models,' said Victor Doolan, executive director of the Premier Automotive Group.
Neither Doolan nor Pebble Beach executives would divulge the cost of the Lincoln partnership. But David Stivers, executive vice president for brand management at Pebble Beach Co., says that Premier Automotive Group put out a significant investment for the partnership and that a sponsorship fee was included.
Pebble Beach sources previously have told Automotive News Marketer that sponsorships at the resort range from $40,000 to $200,000.
