General Motors asked the Terminator to help design the Hummer H2 SUT concept vehicle.
In April, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger helped launch the vehicle at the New York Auto Show. And he introduced the vehicle on the television set of ABC-TV's 'Good Morning America.' The actor is a Hummer fan.
'I was involved every step of the way,' said the Austrian-born actor, who is best known for his role in the 'Terminator' films. Hummer marketing director Michael DiGiovanni said GM invited Schwarzenegger to the design studio several times to seek his advice.
Schwarzenegger's convinced designers to thicken the A-pillars to maintain the original's rugged look.
'Look at those deltoids. Looks at those pecs,' Schwarz-enegger joked as he introduced the vehicle to the press.
The SUT, or sport-utility truck, is similar to the upcoming Hummer H2. It has a folding midgate similar to that of the Chevrolet Avalanche and Cadillac Escalade EXT. With the midgate down, the H2 SUT is a cargo-hauling pickup. With the gate up, it is a sport-utility vehicle.
