The head of Saturn Corp. and a leader of DaimlerChrysler's supply-chain initiative will be among the key speakers at the Automotive News New American Manufacturing Conference in Nashville, Tenn., next month.
Cynthia Trudell has been chairman of Saturn since early 1999.
She has held key manufacturing posts in England, Canada and the United States during her 20 years at General Motors. At Saturn, she oversees the manufacturing complex in Spring Hill, Tenn., as it prepares to build Saturn's first sport-utility, the Vue.
Jim Carleton is director of Daimler Chrysler's e-Extended Enterprise.
He is responsible for guiding the use of e-business tools and processes for the company's procurement and supply organization.
Trudell and Carleton will speak April 10.
Other speakers include Don Walker, CEO of Magna Interiors Inc.; Dennis Pawley, the former manufacturing chief for Chrysler Corp.; John Lampe, CEO of Bridgestone/Firestone Inc.; and Ken Kraefle, general manager of qualitly control and quality engineering at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky Inc.
The April 9-11 conference will be co-sponsored by the Deloitte Consulting unit of Deloitte & Touche LLP, the state of Tennessee and the University of Tennessee.
