It's probably a good thing that Daewoo Motor America has a new infusion of capital. At least in the short term, it makes sense to keep the U.S. distributor open while the parent, Daewoo Motor Co., tries to find an angel.
General Motors still seems to covet Daewoo's Korean market share, and the Korean government has given GM until the end of April to establish its intentions.
But Daewoo remains in hock.
That means that GM must consider very carefully whether it can afford to be Daewoo's angel.
