GENERAL MOTORS - Patrick Campbell, 48, is vice president of finance for Gen-eral Motors Europe. He was executive director of investor relations and worldwide benchmarking analysis. Camp- bell joined GM in 1976 and served in various finance positions in the United States and Europe. He was GM Europe's vice president of finance from 1994 to 1995.
SAAB AUTOMOBILE - Saab Automobile's vice president for powertrain, Kjell ac Bergstrom, is to head technical development within a new GM-Fiat powertrain joint-venture company. Bergstrom takes his new position in Turin, Italy, this month. As vice president for product engineering, he will be responsible for all new engine and transmission projects for Saab, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Opel/Vauxhall. The new joint venture embraces all GM and powertrain operations in Europe and Latin America, involving almost 27,000 employees and five development centers and 19 production plants in 11 countries. As head of powertrain at Saab, Bergstrom, 55, has been responsible for the development of the Saab Variable Compres-sion engine and the Saab Combustion Control system.
BMW FINANCIAL SERVICES - John Christman is CEO of BMW Financial Services with responsibility for North America and Latin America. Christman, 47, was chief financial officer of the captive finance company. He succeeds Stefan Krause, who in December assumed responsibility for sales in all European countries except Germany. Christman began work for BMW Financial Services as controller in 1994.
HAYES LEMMERZ INTERNATIONAL INC. - Gary Findling is treasurer. He was vice president and treasurer of Grove Worldwide in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania. Hayes Lemmerz International of Northville, Michigan, supplies automotive wheels, brakes, suspension, and structural and other lightweight components.
JOHNSON CONTROLS INC. - Jerry Beaubien is vice president and senior executive in charge of the Johnson Controls Leadership Institute. He was vice president and general manager for Johnson Controls in South America.
Mike Lamach is group vice president and general manager for General Motors worldwide, Toyota worldwide and Nissan North America customer business units. He was vice president and general manager of North American commercial business for the company's Integrated Facility Management business.
Johnson Controls is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Plymouth, Michigan, automotive group supplies seating and interior systems, and batteries.

Pete Wendy, 43, is shows and exhibits manager. He was Infiniti Division merchandising manager with Nissan North America Inc. in Somerset, New Jersey.
John Burgess, 33, is Freelander model manager. He was product communications manager.
Daric Miller, 29, is Range Rover model manager. He was Range Rover product champion.
Andy Thomas, 32, is Discovery model manager. He was Discovery product champion.
NISSAN NORTH AMERICA INC. - Mary Berst, 41, is director of corporate finance. She also is the site director for U.S. manufacturing operations and now is part of Nissan North America's Operating Committee. Berst was a department manager in the finance division.
Steven Blackburn, 45, moves to director and plant manager for the Altima Trim & Chassis plant. He also now is a member of the North America Operating Committee. He was a department manager in the manufacturing division.
POLK CO. - Joseph Walker is president of Polk North America. He was chief administrative officer. He has served in several roles at Polk, including senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.
Polk of Southfield, Michi-gan, is an analytical consultant and statistician to the automotive industry. It also provides database marketing services and supplies vehicle histories.
