The next generation of America's best-selling car, the Toyota Camry, will go on sale this fall as a 2002 model. The heavy disguise on this test vehicle makes it difficult to see much detail, but a more rounded overall shape and the sharper angle of the C pillars add up to a sleeker silhouette. Dealer sources say the interior will use more upscale textures and fabrics to give the new Camry nearly a Lexus look. Engines are expected to have variable-valve timing and 100,000-mile intervals for tune-ups.
