General Motors has come up with a novel idea for recruiting and training women to become GM dealers: Put a woman in charge of the operation.
Now why didn't anyone else think of that?
Pat Roberts will handle the job as GM's first head of women's retail initiatives, and she knows what it's like being a woman in a man's world. She has been with GM 34 years and served in field sales in the early 1970s when that was strictly a male preserve. We wish her well.
