On other subjects, Szygenda said GM still wants to fill the hole left in November by a crumbled potential deal with Reynolds and Reynolds Co.
Reynolds could have become the exclusive provider for dealer e-business technology at GM, but the parties could not reach agreement. That deal would have given the automaker a 10 percent equity stake in the longtime supplier of dealer management systems.
GM has asked other companies with which it has e-business contracts to step up to the challenge. Szygenda declined to name those candidates. GM still does business with Reynolds.
