CarSmart.com gets new look
SAN RAMON Calif. - CarSmart.com, an automotive information and pricing site, has revised its Web site. The company says the redesign will make the site easier to use.
CarSmart.com is a wholly owned subsidiary of Autobytel.com.
JATO, eVox form partnership
DETROIT - eVox will provide photos to JATO Dynamics Inc., an auto data service provider, for use on auto-related Web sites.
The eVox library of automotive photos is offered by make, model and body style. It allows consumers to spin an image of a vehicle's exterior; to see 360-degree panoramic shots of the interior; and to see a variety of exterior and interior still shots.
The partnership seeks to provide low-cost data and photos forWeb site use by auto manufacturers, Internet portals, buying or referral services, auto dealerships, ad groups, financial institutions and parts suppliers.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Forrester Research Inc. of Cambridge, Mass., an Internet research company, will hold an auto event titled 'Build-To-Order: An Industry Road Map' in Santa Monica, Calif., on Feb. 13.
Industry speakers will include Gregory Brady, president of i2 Technologies Inc., and Richard Radecki, corporate director of e-business at Delphi Automotive Systems.
More than 150 senior level technology-minded executives are expected to attend.
New collaboration software
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - WebScope Inc. has shipped the third version of its global collaboration software, WebScope 1.2.
WebScope has added features for visualizing 2-D and 3-D product information. For example, users now can display drawings or images in a separate window and pan and zoom to view image details.
A new tabbed interface makes it easy to move from the 3-D window to the 2-D or to a collaborative whiteboard window, and back again. Also, users can bring snapshots of 3-D views or any 2-D image into the whiteboard for team markup and interaction. The results can be e-mailed to others.
iMotors, Autofusion link
SAN DIEGO - Autofusion Corp. has chosen online used-car company iMotors as its preferred used-car retailer. That means consumers requesting used-car information through Autofusion will be linked automatically to iMotors.com.
Autofusion is an Internet provider of car-buying technology.
