DETROIT - The Automotive Hall of Fame selected five people to receive its 2001 Distinguished Service Citation.
The citation recognizes those who have contributed to the motor vehicle industry through either sustained performance or a specific achievement.
The honorees are:
Chung Mong Koo, chairman of Hyundai Motor Co.
Mike Dale, retired president of Jaguar Cars North America
Pat Moran, chairman and CEO of JM Family Enterprises Inc.
Ross Roberts, retired Ford Motor Co. vice president and president of Ford Investment Enterprises
Takeshi Uchiyamada, director of Toyota Motor Corp. and chief engineer for the Prius.
They will be honored at the Automotive Hall of Fame and Popular Mechanics Annual Awards Luncheon on Feb. 4 during the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in Las Vegas.
In addition, Ken Way, chairman of Lear Corp., will be honored at the luncheon as the Hall of Fame's 2001 Industry Leader of the Year.
