Autocheck.com to provide UAG car histories
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UnitedAuto Group Inc. has chosen AutoCheck.com to provide vehicle history information to its 124 dealerships. Each month AutoCheck.com provides 850,000 vehicle history reports to auctions and dealerships that use the information to evaluate vehicles they want to purchase.
AUSTIN, Texas - USAtradein.com, has expanded into Las Vegas.
Under USAtradein.com's business model, consumers receive bids from as many as five local dealers for their used vehicles based on their online appraisal.
The company was launched in Austin, Texas, in October and plans to move into Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Atlanta and St. Louis in January 2001.
The service costs dealers $595 to sign up and $995 a month.
Companies make Web deal
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - GE Capital Fleet Services and Innovative Fleet Management Inc. have joined forces to create a wholesale used-vehicle sales channel for dealers.
The agreement calls for GE Capital Fleet Services to market some of its off-lease vehicles through Innovative Fleet Management's Web system for customers with commercial cars and trucks.
GE Capital Fleet Services is the international fleet management business of GE Capital, a financial services company with 28 specialized businesses. GE Capital is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Electric Co.
Innovative Fleet Management of Cranberry, Pa., is a technology company that specializes in vehicle remarketing.
Online insurance made available
SAN FRANCISCO - Online insurance company Esurance Inc. is offering auto insurance to used-car customers at AutoTrader.com's and eBay Inc.'s co-branded Web site.
The addition of Esurance means customers who visit www.ebayautotrader.com can get instant quotes, comparative quotes from other carriers and purchase insurance policies online.
