Jaguar last week released the first official photos of its new 3-series fighter, the X-Type. Jaguar disclosed few mechanical details, but it was already known that the new car will be all-wheel drive and will offer a choice of two V-6 engines, a 2.5-liter and a 3.0-liter. The X-Type is scheduled to go on sale next summer in Europe and in the fall in North America. The car is expected to more than double Jaguar's worldwide volume to 200,000 cars a year by 2002. The X-Type will debut at the Geneva auto show in March.
