LOS ANGELES - Mazda North American Operations has added standard equipment and cut the prices of its 2000 Miata convertibles. Sticker prices are down $700 on the base model and $450 on the LS.
After adjusting for equipment made standard, the base model is down $2,080 and the LS is down $2,195.
New standard equipment on the base Miata consists of air conditioning, fog lights, floor mats and a wind deflector. The total price is $1,380.
Air conditioning, fog lights and an appearance package - total price $1,745 - are standard on the Miata LS.
Added to the lineup is a Special Edition model at $25,505. It includes six-speed manual transmission, leather interior and several other exterior and interior upgrades.
