The Automotive News PACE Awards honor not just innovation in products, but innovation in product design and in the processes that create them.
At Ford Motor Co., Louise Goeser is responsible not only for quality in product, but quality in how those products are sold and serviced.
Goeser, Ford's vice president of quality, will be the guest speaker at the Automotive News PACE Awards ceremony Monday, March 6.
Since joining Ford a year ago, Goeser has led a quality program Ford calls Customer-Driven Six Sigma. The effort, Ford's interpretation of the management tool known as Six Sigma, tries to cut costs by reducing variability and defects.
Before joining Ford, Goeser worked for Whirlpool Corp. for five years. There, she instituted a global Six Sigma program. She also spent 20 years at Westinghouse Electric Corp.
Winners of the sixth-annual Automotive News PACE Awards will be announced at the ceremony at Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich.
