In designing the next-generation A4, Audi will draw on elements from the TT and the A6 but will chisel some new edge and definition into the A4's overall shape. This computer-enhanced image shows the styling direction that's expected for the redesigned 2002 A4. The A4 sedan will get a sleekly raked C-pillar, giving a smoother profile and less prominent rear deck than the current model. Prominent wheel arches and a distinct waistline shelf continue Audi's reputation for stout, voluptuous designs. The A4's taillights resemble those of the A6 but are reshaped a bit to correspond to the new design's chiseled lines.
