Manheim Auctions demonstrated a new online feature that makes it easier for dealers to search for vehicles and gives them information such as news, weather, sports and stock prices.
When it debuts in March, My Manheim will be available to the 11,500 dealers who subscribe to Manheim Online, said Hal Logan, senior vice president of marketing at Manheim.
Manheim Online allows dealers to see the inventory at Manheim Auctions and gives them access to the Manheim Market Report, which gives prices of vehicles sold at Manheim Auctions within the past week.
Manheim Online also gives them access to cyberlots so they can buy vehicles for a fixed price online from various auto companies and financial institutions.
My Manheim lets dealers search for vehicles in many ways, such as by auction or consignor, or by features such as engine type.
My Manheim will search Manheim cyberlots, Manheim presale inventory and a list of vehicles that went through the auction but did not sell.
My Manheim can be used to check weather reports by ZIP code, create a stock portfolio and get the latest news.
'We're trying to help used-car professionals make the best use of their time,' said Dennis Berry, Manheim CEO.
Berry said he could not comment about Manheim's pending acquisition of ADT Automotive Inc. of Nashville, Tenn., because the sale is being examined by federal regulatory agencies. Tony Moorby, CEO of ADT, also declined to comment during a press briefing.
