Autolink.com, a new Web-based service for dealers, said it signed its first three customers.
The customers are Hendrick Automotive Group of Charlotte, N.C.; Burt Automotive Network of Englewood, Colo.; and Bergstrom Automotive of Neenah, Wis.
Autolink, of Wheat Ridge, Colo., offers a variety of Web-based services for dealers, including training, marketing, group purchasing, news and chat rooms. Partners in the Web site are Ernst & Young LLP, Data National Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co., American Express Co., Intelisys Electronic Commerce Inc. and Thomson Corp.
Retail training expert Steve Nickelsen is Autolink's chairman and CEO.
The site will be offered to dealers by subscription, with training, sales support, Internet communications and purchasing included in the base fee of $189 per month. Other services, such as a Web-based customer marketing service, are available for an additional fee.
In the training area, Autolink will offer Automotive Service Excellence pre-certification courses for technicians and counter personnel. The company will offer 30 courses initially.
