The Ford Transit, a ubiquitous delivery vehicle in much of the world, is being redesigned for the first time in 14 years. The European introduction is scheduled for late March. Ford's Visteon Automotive Systems subsidiary produces plastic parts for the Transit and other vehicles at this plant in Berlin. About 26 million parts are produced there each year, including radiator grilles, consoles, instrument panels and door linings. Visteon has invested $13.5 million in the facility since September 1997.
