Ford, General Motors and DaimlerChrysler plants will be closed today, Jan. 17, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Several DaimlerChrysler Corp. plants returned from an extended holiday layoff last week. The Sterling Heights, Mich., plant (Chrysler Cirrus, Dodge Stratus, Plymouth Breeze) had been down since Dec. 20 for facility modifications. The Belvidere, Ill., plant (Chrysler-Dodge-Plymouth Neon) and Pillette Road plant in Windsor, Ontario, (Dodge Ram Van and Wagon) were down one week for inventory adjustments.
