Big motor homes continued to ship at a blistering pace in November 1999. Deliveries of Class A motor homes for the month totaled 3,400, up 6.3 percent from the same month a year ago. For the first 11 months of the year, Class A deliveries rose 15.8 percent to 45,400 units.
Smaller Class C motor homes stumbled in November but continued to outperform 1998's year-to-date totals. November's Class C deliveries were down 8.3 percent from the same month in 1998, to 1,100 units. Class C deliveries totaled 17,400 through the first 11 months of the year, 8.7 percent ahead of the same period a year earlier.
Conversion vehicles, including vans, pickups and sport-utilities, also stumbled in November with 10,700 deliveries reported, down 10.8 percent from the same month a year earlier. For the first 11 months of 1999, conversion vehicles were up 4.6 percent, to 143,200 units.
