Now bosses and spouses don't have to get teed off when golf enthusiasts want to escape to play a few quick holes. Buick has designed a four-hole course on its www.buick.com site as a way to promote its cars and the four PGA Tour tournaments the division sponsors.
The new game kicked off in October with a sweepstakes in which the two best scorers won golf clubs.
'It's appealing to a younger audience, but it doesn't alienate' traditional - that is, older - Buick customers, says Steven Olson, Buick interactive supervisor. 'The fundamentals behind using online for Buick is reaching out to new audiences.'
The game is designed so anybody can play an entire hole with just a few clicks. After the completion of each hole, a scoreboard showcases one of Buick's 2000 model vehicles.
Spokesman John Wray says more holes likely will be added in the future.
