DETROIT - The Automotive Hall of Fame has named six recipients of the 2000 Distinguished Service Citation.
The honorees are:
Sam Cupp, CEO of the Hamilton Group International of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
Irma Elder, CEO of Troy Ford of Troy, Mich., and four other Michigan dealerships
Yale Gieszl, vice chairman of Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc.
Leon Mandel, vice president and publisher of AutoWeek, a sister publication of Automotive News
Thomas Pappert, former vice president of sales and service at Chrysler Corp.
Cynthia Trudell, chairman of Saturn Corp.
They will be honored at the Automotive Hall of Fame and Popular Mechanics Annual Awards Luncheon on Jan. 23 during the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in Orlando, Fla.
In addition, General Motors CEO Jack Smith will be honored at the luncheon as the Hall of Fame's 1999 Automotive Industry Leader of the Year.
