KOKOMO, Ind. - Charles Conkle, 90, founder of Charles Conkle Motor Co. Inc., died Nov. 4. He entered the auto dealership business in 1931 and acquired a Pontiac franchise in 1937. He founded Charles Conkle Motor Co. in 1955 and continued in business with his son Charles Conkle Jr. until retiring in 1965.
DETROIT - Mike Savoie, 78, owner of Birmingham Chevrolet in Troy, Mich., died Oct. 31. He began his automotive career in the early 1950s, selling cars at Art Rose Chevrolet in Mount Clemens, Mich. Savoie bought Birmingham Chevrolet in Birmingham, Mich., from M.T. Patterson in 1966 and moved the dealership to Troy in 1967. He served on GM fac-tory/dealer committees, including the National Chevrolet Dealer Council. His son, Michael, joined the business in 1975 and now operates the dealership.
HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Bursie Speck, 64, died Aug. 2. Speck owned Speck Pontiac-Oldsmobile here from 1954-90.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - Warren Lattof, who operated Lattof Chevrolet here, died Nov. 17. He was 65. His father Nicholas Lattof opened the dealership in 1936, and Warren joined the business after graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1955. His son, Allen, succeeds him as president.

GOSHEN, Ind. - William Shaw Jr., 78, died Nov. 9. Shaw had owned Shaw Motors Corp. (Chevrolet-Oldsmobile) in Beacon, N.Y. He retired in 1984.
