TOKYO - Denso Corp. has celebrated the opening of a Hungarian unit that will build electronically controlled distributor pumps for Isuzu Motors Ltd.'s Polish diesel-engine factory.
Denso Manufacturing Hungary Ltd., in Szekesfehervar about 40 miles southwest of Budapest, represents an investment of about $100 million. It employs 250 workers now, but that is expected to rise to 500 in two years.
At that time, Denso expects to boost output to 230,000 pumps a year. Production began in May. The unit is owned by Denso Corp. and Denso International Europe B.V.
