DETROIT - MascoTech Inc. has acquired automotive component maker Windfall Products Inc. of St. Marys, Pa.
The acquisition will make MascoTech of Taylor, Mich., one of North America's largest suppliers of powder metal components for the transportation industry, with annual sales in excess of $200 million.
The metal-forming process uses powder metal fired at high temperatures to create complex shapes or unique properties.
Windfall, with annual sales of $80 million, supplies components used in engine, engine emission and suspension applications.
The company operates plants in St. Marys and Ridgway, Pa., and in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
MascoTech is expected to announce plans soon for a new powder metal plant in Mexico.
