DETROIT - Pontiac has reduced the prices of four Grand Am models for the 2000 model year, but its overall prices are up an average of $248 over the final 1999 stickers, an Automotive News analysis finds.
The reductions of $200 to $490 apply to the four lowest-priced Grand Ams, the SE and SE1 coupe and sedan. Six other Grand Ams are up $270 to $380.
All but two of the Pontiac increases range from $240 to $670. The Sunfire SE coupe and sedan are up $1,165 and $1,265, but air conditioning has been made standard for 2000. Air was $830 extra on the 1999 Sunfire SE.
