SPRING HILL, Tenn. - Saturn has redesigned the body panels and cockpit of its S-series sedan and wagon for the 2000 model year.
Additional changes will appear on the SC coupe beginning in January 2000 as a 2001 model.
The cars also have adopted some components in common with Saturn's new L-series sedan and wagon, which Saturn is introducing this summer. The S series was last redesigned for 1996.
The polymer exterior panels are new from the beltline down. The result is a more angular look, with a contour line running the length of the vehicle just above the door handles.
The interior changes include a new one-piece cover for the instrumental panel, a new instrument cluster and a redesigned console.
The cars now will be wired to accept OnStar, General Motors' vehicle navigation service. But the service is available on Saturn only as a dealer-installed option.
