Monaco posts record profit
COBURG, Ore. - Monaco Coach Corp. reported an any-quarter earnings record in the second quarter - $11.5 million. Revenue of $199.2 million for the same period also set an any-quarter record. It was up from $134 million during the same quarter last year.
Strong sales accounted for the profit and revenue boom, Monaco CFO John Nepute said. Through the first half of the year, the motor-home manufacturer sold 4,832 units, up 66 percent from 1998's first half.
RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. will buy Western Recreational Vehicles Inc. for an undisclosed price.
Western, based in Yakima, Wash., sold $60 million worth of RVs last year, said Ron Doyle, Western's CFO.
